Captions in one click
- Hit Transcribe and the whole edit gets transcribed. No exporting and no uploading.
- 100 languages, or let it detect the language on its own.
- It runs on your computer, so footage never leaves your drive and there are no per-minute fees.
- Paste your script and it uses it to spell names and jargon right.
- Already have an SRT or VTT file? Drop it in and skip transcription.
- Caption the whole timeline or just the work area.
- Right-to-left languages like Arabic, Hebrew and Urdu display the right way round.
Fix it before it hits your timeline
- Built-in caption editor: play the audio, fix any word, split at the playhead, delete, undo and redo. Playback runs from 0.5x to 2x.
- It flags captions with timing or pacing problems.
- Protected phrases: names and brands like “Coca-Cola” never get split across two captions.
- Choose exactly how many words go in each caption (1 to 8), or set a range.
Make the key words pop
- It highlights the important word in each caption automatically. A slider sets how many captions get one.
- Or click any word to highlight it yourself.
- Dynamic colors: good words turn green, bad words red and important words orange (English only).
- Normal words and highlighted words each get their own style and animation.
Styles and animations
- 18 ready-made styles: Simple, Devin Normal, Devin Highlight, Different, Glow, Outline, Text Box, Gradient, 4 Color, Shine, Light Sweep, Paper Wiggle, Stroke, Type Writer, Funk, Green Highlight, Glitch, Stylist.
- 19 animations: Smooth Slide, Blur Slide, Flicker Slide, Glow Slide, Blur, Blur + Flicker, Bounce, Flicker, Letter Horizontal, Motion Blur, Pop, Rough, Opacity, Slide Left, Slide Right, Stretch, Type In, Word by Word, Zoom In.
- Live previews of every style and animation inside the panel.
- An optional fade-out where stacked captions fade together.
- Your own default look: font, size, color, glow and drop shadow.
- Save the whole setup as a preset and reuse it in one click.
- Top, middle or bottom placement, with safe zones so text never gets cut off.
Stacked captions, the reels look
- It groups captions for you using pauses and sentence endings, or you pick the groups yourself.
- Show one caption at a time, or build them up into a stack.
- 3 stack layouts: Aligned, Alternating and Scatter.
- Sliders for line spacing, left/right offset and vertical drift.
- 2 to 7 lines per stack.
- Step through each stack line by line before anything gets created.
- In After Effects, each stack gets one handle so you can move or animate the whole stack at once.
Fits into your edit
- Works in After Effects and Premiere Pro, on Mac and Windows.
- After Effects creates native text layers. Premiere Pro uses rendered transparent caption clips; edit the text in the panel and create them again.
- Change something and run it again: only what changed gets updated, with no duplicate layers.
- Move or resize all your captions at once after they’re made.
- Cancel at any time and it cleans up, so your project isn’t left half-built.
- It remembers where you left off and can auto-save your project after each build.

“A pack could not do the work”
I animated captions by hand for years. Then I built Captions FX, a pack of caption mogrts sold on asimnauwag.com. It sold well. It also only got me halfway: I still typed every word and matched every timing, line after line.
The problem was never the style of the captions. It was the labour. A pack cannot do the labour for you.
So I built the thing that can.

Frequently asked questions
What happens when the 7 days end?
Unless you cancel before the seven days end, the monthly plan renews at $19, then $19 each month. The yearly plan is $139 per year and does not include the seven-day offer. Cancel future renewals through your customer portal.
Can I edit the captions after they are generated?
Yes. Edit your words, style, timing and stack in the Captions Pro panel and create the captions again. After Effects creates native text layers; Premiere Pro uses rendered transparent caption clips.
Does my footage get uploaded anywhere?
No. Your footage and audio are not uploaded for transcription.
Does it work in DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut?
Not currently. Captions Pro is built for After Effects and Premiere Pro on Mac and Windows.
Which apps does it support?
Captions Pro works inside After Effects and Premiere Pro on Mac and Windows.
How many computers can I use it on?
One license, one computer at a time. Deactivate and move it to another computer anytime.
I already own Captions FX. Do I get anything?
Captions Pro is a separate, brand-new plugin. Captions FX gives you caption styles; Captions Pro does the work: it transcribes, times and stacks your captions for you. Use them together and keep Captions FX for the fancy mogrts whenever an edit needs them.
